Moorabbin take home Alicia Molik Cup

Bayside
Moorabbin have had a very successful weekend winning the Alicia Molik
Cup held at Kooyong Lawn Tennis Club. Bayside Moorabbin defeated North
Eastern Junior Tennis Association in a well fought out contest.
16
representative teams from across Victoria descended on the Kooyong Lawn
Tennis Club to participate in this prestigious 12/u boys and girls
regional team event on the Tennis Victoria calendar. This event is
kindly supported by the Kooyong Foundation and presentations were made
on the day by Andrew Sutherland from the Kooyong Foundation.
Not
since 2014 have Bayside Moorabbin Tennis Association been able to take
home the Alicia Molik Cup.
The
winning Bayside Moorabbin team was Erin Maguire, Kosta Mandikos, Chris
Alevizsos and Chloe Hecker, and managed by Peter Alevizsos.

There has been an excellent number of nominations
for the Alicia Molik Cup Team. Over the years we have been
finding it difficult to get players to nominate for the various team
events so it was great to get such a fabulous response. It
is just a shame that the team can only consist of two boys and two
girls. Please see the link below which outlines the events that
are held annually over the year for regions to submit teams.

Represent Bayside-Moorabbin
Region
The
Alicia Molik Cup is a 12 and under annual mixed doubles
event open to all metropolitan associations and country regions, and will
be played at Kooyong Tennis Club on 13-14 December 2014. The competition
is a round-robin format with ties consisting of two boys’ singles, two
girls’ singles and two mixed doubles rubbers. This event is
run with the support of the Kooyong Foundation and the Kooyong Lawn Tennis
Club. Bayside-Moorabbin
will be entering a combined team.
