Welcome to the Bayside Regional Tennis
Association website. This site has been set up to facilitate communication
between the Association and its member clubs and tennis players.
The Bayside Regional Tennis Association Inc. (BRTA)
comprises over 150 tennis clubs and night tennis teams primarily located in the
suburbs of Melbourne on the south and east of Port Phillip Bay.
The Association was formed in August
2000 by the merger of the Caulfield Carrum Tennis Association Inc. (founded in
1921) and the Southern Districts Tennis Association Inc. (founded in 1925). The
Association promotes, encourages and advances the game of Tennis
within the Bayside region, and co-ordinates the activities of its members. It
arranges and manages tennis competitions between teams representing member
clubs, and fosters the development of junior tennis through competitions and
coaching schemes.
IS YOUR CLUB FINANCIAL?If not, you may be
missing out on match points!
The Association Committee may
determine that a Club has become ineligible to receive match points, due to
non-payment of an overdue debt. No teams from such clubs will receive any match points until the outstanding debt
is paid. Points lost are not generally reinstated.
Clubs currently in danger of becoming ineligible for match points are:
* Hurlingham Park
* Melbourne University
For more information about the "no points" penalty, see the News Page.

INCREASE IN FINE
FOR WITHDRAWAL OF TEAMS AFTER GRADING
The fine for withdrawal
of a team after grading has been increased from $60 to $80. This increase has
been made necessary due to the number of teams which have been withdrawn
recently, and the amount of additional work that this has caused with the
administration of competitions.
